Arcade Game Adventures

indoor playground equipmentWe were convinced that individuals would want to let arcade games by the month, but truth be toldwe had no clue how to operate on them. Before we knew it our launch was a month away and we had managed to collect about 100 matches, but only 10 of them worked!
We understood enough to refurbish a good chunk of those matches, but we kept hitting the same symptom over and over again. All of our screens would display a scrambled image on the screen. It was super frustrating because we had no idea how to fix it. We nearly missed our launching, but we eventually clued in on what exactly was causing our probablem when we discovered about monitor sync 101 and realized that they occasionally have to get hooked up differently based on the match. On that day, we must have turned on at least 20 games, that we had already put a lot of hard work into, but were missing this last piece of the puzzle so as to be able to play them. This very small chunk of knowledge, gave us the games we all needed to get started and was enough to keep us motivated to continue learning how to correct issues.
Five years later, I still spend more time researching arcade repair, I spent researching in college and the instruction continues to repay.
For the previous couple of years, we've experienced an average bug that's crept to our fleet. The matches would work great following refurbishment, but three to six months after obtaining them turned , they'd all start to fail.
To solve the symptom, we would boost the energy source to operate hot and that would be good for the following 3 to six months until the electricity supplies would burn out. After running into this puzzle a couple of times, we started to put the matches into deep storage until we can find out why they kept failing. Because we assumed, it was being caused by poor circuit boards hoping to draw too much energy, we missed something a lot more evident.
After cleansing the chips, it would sometimes help, but this insect has managed to throw at 20 of our games. Well today, our Mortal Kombat 2 began to display exactly the very same symptoms and quite honestly if we pull this one from the fleet, our clients will riot, so that I sat down to get into the root of the case of the fall in voltage.
To achieve this I took my voltage meter, then measured the electricity at the power supply and then started spreading the 5V line and measuring where I could touch wire. When I measured the electricity before it went to the edge connector, I noticed that the voltage had already dropped. I now suspected the connector between the cable and the power source. As soon as I crimped on the end of the line to place to a new one, I immediately saw exactly what my issue was.
We love getting a fantastic deal and I'd be happy to bet you a quarter, indoor jungle gym equipment so that you can't find a better deal on the jamma harnesses that we purchase. Unfortunately, it seems like we might have gotten what we paid for them.
From the outside, the tap looks as though it uses a thick 18 gauge cable to run the power to the board. That is a lot of metal to conduct a small amount of voltage. It is part of why I never suspected that it was our culprit.
As soon as you open it up though, you can see that from the exterior it looks 18 gauge, but on the inside it's short quite a bit of metal. The solution was easy, run a thicker cable in the power supply to the tap and Voila! Mortal Kombat 2 back up and running, just in time for our free play arcade at the Jack of All Trade series this weekend.
While this easy bug should have been seen sooner and has caused us a great deal of headaches, it is also incredibly exciting to figure out the origin of our difficulty and to know that with very little work, we have another 20 awesome matches back on our site . Learning how to correct arcade games hasn't been easy and your education never ends, but every time you solve a puzzle, the next game becoming easier and easier to fix.
Hopefully, other men and women who have run into similar problem, can save the same aggravation by A.) double checking the cable you are using when you can not receive your voltage to journey cleanly from your power source into a circuit boards and B.) paying just a little bit more better quality jamma harnesses.
